Founded in 1990 in beautiful South West France, Euroglass was born from core Australian surfing heritage and European lifestyle values.
With incredible Atlantic surf right on the doorstep, the goal was to bring a stable of world class shapers to provide the very finest surfboards available for an exciting, emerging surf culture.
Alongside building boards for elite world championship tour pros, Euroglass has been committed to providing quality equipment for all ocean go-ers, diversifying the range to include surfboards, surf accessories, stand up paddle boards and surf school equipment.
Our aim is to provide a unique customer experience based upon our heritage as a state-of-the art surfboard facility. Powered by the creation of our euroglass90.com e-commerce and a 300m2 first retail store, our customers can enjoy a unique one stop service; so whether ordering a custom surfboard at our HQ in SW France or via e-commerce, we can deliver door to door across Europe, in 6-8 weeks.
Everything we do at Euroglass starts with a simple, shared goal: to help surfers get the most out of their session.
By building high quality and innovation into every aspect of what we do, Euroglass aims to create the very best products for all levels of surfing - from absolute beginner to elite professional surfer.
We’re excited about constantly evolving our products alongside the ever progressing sport of surfing. New ideas, new products and new challenges are what inspire us day to day, board by board. As the surfing lifestyle continues to grow and evolve, we aim to build and supply products that reflect and enable our passions.
So while lineups, surfers and their choice of craft continue to constantly change, one constant is our aim to create the very best equipment on the market.
Ever committed to building the very best products, we’re constantly investing in R&D and quality control. We regularly visit our partner suppliers, the leading global producers in sourcing the best materials and technology available. Meanwhile, our SW France facility maintains world class standards of surfboard production.
Our legendary in house stable of shapers oversee every aspect of our surfboard manufacture; from the custom made blank cutting machinery, to hand shaping by master craftsmen, to glassing and finishing. This custom, hand-made production means only a limited run of the highest quality surfboards ever leave the factory bearing our signature.
While standing on a surfboard riding a wave to shore is (ideally!) a solitary endeavour, we firmly believe that creating the craft under the surfer’s feet isn’t. That’s why our products are the result of endless teamwork and collaboration. By sharing ideas, promoting feedback, by testing and more testing, we’re constantly looking to engage and involve our pro riders, factory team, and our customers.
We believe it’s that unique cross-pollination of ideas, passions and expertise that helps set our product apart. Everyone involved in creating our boards, whatever their role, has the common thread of being a surfer. We build better, together.
aka Belly
Stephen Bell founded Euroglass in 1990, providing Quiksilver with technical core products to help secure their position as the leading surf brand.
Having moved to France from Victoria, Australia, Belly found the wide open, world class lineups of France the ideal testing ground for the rapidly evolving high performance surfboard designs of the time. Bringing board building expertise from Down Under, a growing European surf scene was bolstered by the presence of a number of ex-pat World Tour professionals based locally in France, global legends and new Euro devotees alike could now benefit from quality, custom made surfboards built in Hossegor.
Each year when the world tour rolled into town, Belly’s factory served as an unofficial embassy for the leading Australian surfers to get new boards, clues on the whereabouts of secret sandbars, and respite from life on the road. As the local surf scene continued to thrive, Euroglass became the confluence for the twin ideologies of European passion for the finer things in life, and core Aussie surf culture. To this day, surfing remains Belly’s primary passion, despite healthy competition from golf.
Hossegor, France
In 2012 we moved from our old school surfboard shed into a 1500m2 custom-built factory of unrivalled standards. A “REACH” and “QUEST” approved facility that now employs 15 young men and women who share the same objectives, authenticity, innovation, and reliability.
