Introducing the CI 2 Pro, the victorious surfboard from the 2023 Stab in the Dark competition with Italo Ferreira! This model inherits the same winning outline and bottom contours that secured victory in the 2022 SITD with Jack Robinson, but with a tweak in overall rocker to better suit the anticipated surfing style and waves for 2023.
When developing the CI Pro, we extensively tested both rocker variations, each proving effective across a wide range of conditions. Over the past year, our team has embraced both the CI Pro and 2.Pro curves, each favored by different riders globally. For the 2022 SITD in Hawaii, we believed the more rockered version would complement the powerful waves and Jack Robinson's surfing style. However, with Italo Ferreira in mind for this year's contest and considering his dynamic surfing style and the diverse wave conditions in Brazil, we opted for the slightly less rockered 2.Pro.
With a quarter-inch reduction in overall rocker compared to the CI Pro, the 2.Pro delivers increased speed while maintaining the same subtle single concave to slight double through the fins, ensuring a connected feel through transitions. The 2.Pro offers enhanced performance across a wider range of waves, making it more accessible to a broader spectrum of surfers.
For fans of the CI Pro, the 2.Pro adds versatility to their quiver, with some team riders opting for it in lesser conditions. For those initially intimidated by the CI Pro, the 2.Pro presents new opportunities and possibilities.
